  • Must have an HVAC certification from accredited trade school or program.

Qualifications

Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. The incumbent performs air conditioning and refrigerant (AC&R) equipment work which involves installation, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, overhaul and servicing of varied and complex industrial and commercial air conditioning, heat pump and refrigeration systems of various capacities.

Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements: 

* Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT ELEMENT)
* Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
* Technical practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
* Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
* Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
* Knowledge of materials
* Troubleshooting
