The primary purpose of this position is To develop preventative maintenance plans, inventory and monitor real property HVAC equipment, recommend work methods, materials and tools to install, repair, and modify large/complex systems that provide for a variety of air conditioning functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, cleaning, filtering.

  • A Refrigeration Technician License is required. Position also requires a Universal Technician Certification as required by 40 CFR Par 82, subpart F, EPA
  • The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for the position
  • Employee will be required to support Base Readiness and Emergency Operations Exercises and Real World Threats and Events
  • Employee will be required to support Special Events (i.e. Annual Air Show, Base Exercises) not necessarily performing in their primary skill code
  • Employee will be required to augment the Civil Engineering Snow Removal Team not necessarily performing in their primary skill code
  • The work will require the employee to carry and electronic beeper or cell phone. Recall to duty is a requirement of this position
  • The actual work performed in this position has been reviewed and determined that it does not meet any of the exemption criteria defined in 5 CFR 551. This position has been designated as nonexempt

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5300 Industrial Equipment Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
