Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Work with clients and colleagues meet to deadlines on unique and challenging projects.
- Manage multiple air quality projects spanning a variety of disciplines including: air quality permitting, dispersion modeling, emissions reporting, regulatory compliance, audits, and more.
- Focus on dispersion modeling, master key dispersion modeling techniques, and keep up with new dispersion modeling developments.
- Navigate models other than AERMOD for project specific or unique modeling needs.
- Communicate complex regulatory issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams.
- Making public presentations on GHD's technical capability on air dispersion modeling in local and national conferences.
- Support air quality compliance management in multiple industries, including: chemical/petro-chem, refining, electrical utility, petroleum refining, and manufacturing.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff in technical and interpersonal matters.
What you will bring to the team:
- B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering, Science or a related field; M.S. and Ph.D. preferred.
- 5-7 years of air quality permitting, compliance and/or modeling experience; consulting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of air quality rules, regulations and agency structure in Texas and surrounding states. Louisiana experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge on air dispersion modeling with EPA's AERMOD modeling suites.
- Capable of running AERMOD on both graphical user interface software packages and on command line prompt windows and input/output text files.
- Skills of meteorological data processing with EPA's AERMET and associated programs.
- Capability and willingness to make technical presentations at conferences.
- Experience with initial applications, renewals and revisions for variety of permitting mechanisms, including, but not limited to: Title V, NSR, NNSR, PSD, GHG, Standard Permit, and Permits by Rule.
- Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials in person and in writing.
- Capable of leading and directing the work of teams while maintaining budgets and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in relevant software.
