JOB DESCRIPTION A leading environmental consulting firm is seeking anAir Quality Project Managerto join their Permitting and Compliance Team in its Houston office. An Air Quality Project Manager is a leader in air permitting and compliance projects for Oil & Gas and Industrial clients. They have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to foster positive relationships internally, with clients and with contractors. The AQ Project Manager has a proficient technical background in air quality regulations, permitting, emissions calculations, and compliance reporting. This role requires a combination of regulatory expertise, project management skills, and client communication abilities. Key Responsibilities: *Take proactive leadership in business development initiatives aimed at expanding the current client base while nurturing existing relationships. *Manage and execute air quality projects, including air permit applications (NSR, Title V, PSD, etc.), emissions inventories, compliance audits and compliance reports. *Provide technical and administrative support across various projects, including regulatory research, data collection and analysis, and preparation and review of technical documents. *Develop emissions calculations, regulatory applicability determinations, and compliance strategies. *Lead, train, and mentor junior staff members, creating opportunities for their professional growth. * Oversee data analysis and quality assurance to ensure accurate reporting. *Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams. *Prepare proposals, budgets, and scopes of work for new and existing projects. *Stay current with air quality regulations, industry trends, and best practices. Qualifications: * 10+ years of experience, primarily in environmental consulting. * Demonstrated proficiency in environmental regulations and reporting (air media required). *Holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Engineering, or related scientific discipline. *Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. *Self-motivated and detail oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of effective collaboration with teams. *Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. *Professional Engineer (PE) or other relevant certifications (e.g., QEP, CPP) are a plus. *Familiarity with state-specific (TX & NM preferred) air quality regulations. *Experience working with regulatory agencies and permitting authorities.
