The Opportunity:

As an Air Solutions Platform Manager, you will manage a team of Product Managers and identify overarching strategic direction across synergistic product lines managed by Product Managers in this team and coordinate with Product Managers in other indirect areas. You will also identify development opportunities that involve multiple product lines where ownership is not limited to a single Product Manager. The Air Solutions Platform Manager will work with Product Managers to develop more strategic product level direction. You will be part of a team responsible for Air Source VRF systems, Water Source VRF systems, Single Split systems, Multi Split systems, respective Indoor Units and Heat Recovery Units, and Water Heating solutions.

What You'll Do:

o Platform Management:

• Develop overarching product strategies that create synergistic value across all products directly responsible for and other indirect product lines by gathering input on pain points, opportunities, code and regulatory development, market direction, etc.

• Active involvement in code and regulatory developments through AHRI, ASHRAE, and other regulatory bodies to incorporate into platform and product strategy

• Work with local and factory leadership, R&D, and product managers to align strategy with development efforts

• Own and coordinate with product managers and other department stakeholders to execute developments/projects that reach across product categories, not belonging to a single product manager

o Product Management:

• Manage a group of Product Managers responsible for Air Source VRF systems, Water Source VRF systems, Single Split systems, Multi Split systems, respective Indoor Units and Heat Recovery Units, Water Heating solutions, and equipment related accessories, to execute the following:

• Identify and manage development priorities

• Develop and manage direction of LG equipment and controls product with LG factory R&D

• Develop business and technical cases to drive requests to fill product gaps and provide requirements for factory developed equipment and controls products

• Develop and align Product Road Map (PRM) and set schedule expectations with Development team, NPI stakeholders, and Sales team

• Manage need to know communications/announcements with the field including product updates, product/accessory inclusions/exclusions, feature upgrades, new product availability, end of life, etc.

o Regulatory and Compliance

• Ensure DOE, AHRI, building code, and other requirements are met

• Proper understanding of requirements to certify and apply equipment

• Ensure NPI's meet current and upcoming certification and code requirements

• Keep track of industry developments in government regulation, national and local code, and overall industry movement to ensure alignment of product with regulations, codes and standards through industry organizations and involvement in other key areas

• Develop strategies for maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, codes, and standards

• Communicate requirement details and projections to factory, management, and sales teams as they relate to current and coming regulations, codes, and standards

• Field applications support and design requirements as they relate to regulations, codes, and standards

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent with advanced and progressive skills with people management experience.

• Experience as an HVAC equipment or controls Applications Engineer or other related experience such as Product Management or Sales.
