Airborne Platform Software Engineer

As a Gogo Business Aviation Airborne Platform Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing production quality software for Gogo BA airborne products on a Linux platform. You will develop new features, enhance existing software components, and test feature functionality on both existing products and our Next Generation 5G Air to Ground solution. You will be part of an experienced development team that integrates closely with other teams across the company.

How will you make a difference?

• Design and develop front-end GUI software features for new products or extend design of existing products, including selection and integration of third-party technologies, particularly open source
• Conduct design reviews and participate in code inspections
• Assist in development of automated unit tests
• Provide estimates for design and feature development
• Track project stories/tasks, provide status, and ensure stories/tasks are completed on schedule
• Continually improve design, development, and test processes
• Participate in establishing and maintaining software build environment and source code repository for assigned projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 4-7 years of software development experience, in a Linux environment

Required Skills, Experience and Talents

• Experience with Node.js and Node Express
• Skilled with npm package manager
• Has worked with AngularJS and ReactJS
• Knowledge of RESTFUL APIs
• Database experience with MongoDB and Mongoose middleware for Mongo and Node
• Familiarity with Python and BASH

Preferred Skills, Experience and Talents

• Relevant software configuration management and tools skills using Git/GitHub
• Experience supporting products in the field
• Able to mentor junior software developers
• Has worked with Typescript
• Skilled with Redis database
• Knowledge of Stylus CSS, Websockets, Redux state container for JS
• Brunch build tool and Yarn package manager
• ChaiJS and SinonJS for unit testing
• Nginx
• Familiar with the Agile software development methodology and SAFe framework

Base Pay:
108,000.00 - 135,000.00 USD Annual
Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:
Bonus Plan at 10% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
