Summary
This National Guard position is for a Aircraft Engine Mechanic (Title 32) (TEMP-INDEF), Position Description Number D163500and is part of the 151 MXS located in SLC UT with the Utah Air National Guard.
This vacancy is OPEN to the public, to those in the UTANG or willing to join.
The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is Luke Hurst.
TEMP-INDEF may be terminated in accordance with regulatory guidance, with the possibility to non-competitively convert to permanent tenure at a future date.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Rank: Enlisted - Max Grade E6
Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC 2A6X1
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Medical screening will be completed upon selection for hire.
- Soldiers who accept a technician position may be terminated from the Bonus and Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP).
- Indefinite positions may be converted to permanent status without further competition.
- National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.

Qualifications
**Must include beginning and ending dates of employment stated as MM/YYYY; and total hours worked per week in order to determine part time vs. full time credit.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
WG-05 Must have experience using common hand tools in making repetitive mechanical repairs under close supervision. Experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the simpler and routine duties of the trade.
WG-08 Must have experience removing and installing components and accessories with detailed guidance. Experience in following detailed instructions in making minor repairs and modifications to aircraft engines, sub-assemblies and components.
WG-10 Must have experience performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience or training performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
