Airport Custodian - Seasonal

• STARTING PAY IS $21.75 /HR! • THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION • PAID TIME OFF(PTO)! • OT PAID ON HOLIDAYS! Position Summary: Do you have an eye for detail? Do you like making things fresh and clean? This is the job for you! In this role you will perform custodial/janitorial duties at the South Terminal, located by the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and the immediate surrounding grounds. You will keep buildings in clean and orderly condition by sanitizing restrooms, sweeping/mopping, vacuum carpets, dust, polish, and restock consumables. You will also assist in helping clean and maintain our clients passenger lounge areas. Responsibilities and Duties: • Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing • Gathers and empties trash, following recycling procedures • Services, cleans, sanitizes, and supplies restrooms • Cleans and polishes furniture and fixtures • Cleans windows, glass partitions, and mirrors • Dusts furniture, walls, machines, and equipment • Mixes water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications • Assists other personnel in his/her department whenever necessary • Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment • Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications and Skills: • Job requires an accredited high school diploma or GED equivalent • Must have reliable transportation • Must be willing to work during the day or night. Holidays/weekends. • Must have static strength, manual dexterity, and coordination to perform general physical activities • Must use good judgment and exercise safety procedures • Must maintain a responsible demeanor and a helpful manner • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License and a good driving record • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport Working Conditions: • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
