Your Role and Responsibilities
AIX AIX Administration. are the gatekeepers to the many systems that run our company and our clients. As a AIX Administration with IBM you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services and leverage our leading-edge technology portfolio in our global network. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of our business by ensuring integrity of and access to our most important resource data. You will need to visit the domestic client’s offices / data centres on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis as part of this role.

Responsibilities:

  • This role is an individual contributor responsible for on-site installation maintenance and repair of IBM logo hardware software and operating systems.
  • Primary technical interface to clients for the coordination of hardware and/or software support and delivery of operational services as required by the client.
  • Advise clients of preventive maintenance configuration operation and environmental factors which may impact product performance or impair client’s IT operation.
  • Perform services activities such as systems assurance installation planning account management systems-level problem determination discontinuance and relocation of IBM systems and products.
  • Accountable to ensure a high level of client satisfaction with service delivery technical support and operational services for the client account(s).
  • When critical situations occur will be the IBM technical interface to clients and manage the situation until the problem is fixed.
  • Needs to have a thorough understanding of and are able to articulate IBM’s technical support strategy.
  • Candidates on the L3 Category should have 5 years relevant experience .
  • Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates should be willing to work on 24Ă—7 and on-call support during critical issues.
  • Candidates should have eagerness to learn new technologies and skills.
  • He/She should be hardworking with strong work ethics and discipline.
  • Ready to work on 24/7 shifts to support client requirement.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Min 5-8 years of experience with experience in the following areas:
  • AIX installation/Upgradation/Patch Management
  • NIM based installation and administration.
  • Hardware health checkup/Logs Collection
  • System Monitoring/Performance Monitoring/data collection.
  • Start/Stop reboot OS as and when required.
  • LVM FileSystem and NFS Management.
  • Storage Attachment and multi-pathing Configuration.
  • User Administration.
  • OS Hardening as per Client/Audit Security policy.
  • Develop and maintain documentation about current environment setup standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Schedule Jobs/cron.
  • System backup and restores
  • BCP activities and Support.
  • PowerHA Installation/Configuration/Start/Stop/Administration
  • LPAR Creation and Administration.
  • VIO installation and configuration
  • Resource Management and DLPAR operations.
  • Trouble shooting any problem data collection.
  • Raise and track Service Requests with IBM/OEM.
