Algorithm Engineer (f/m/d)

We are looking to expand our development team responsible for designing and implementing algorithms for Advanced Driver-Assistance and Autonomous Driving systems. The team focuses on the topic of modelling the relevant road surrounding of the vehicle. By that the team works on one crucial software component within Aptiv’s autonomous driving stack.

Your role:

· Development of algorithms for a Road Model in the context of autonomous driving.

· Algorithm and software design using C/C++.

· Propose, develop and evaluate improvements for this software.

· Testing and tuning of methods developed for improved performance.

· Unit tests development.

· Root cause identification and resolution of software issues detected on higher levels of verification.

· Cooperate with other teams to ensure robustness across developed platform.

· Work in cross functional team environment.

Your background:

· Msc degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Control, Automation and Robotics or similar.

· Extensive Programming experience in C++.

· 3+ years of development and testing of algorithms and coding experience (can include industry, academic or internship).

· Experience with version control and issue tracking on large collaborative projects (Plastic, Git, Jira, Jenkins or similar).

· Understanding of statistical estimation, signal processing, time filtering, tracking algorithms.

· Fluent use of spoken and written English.

Highly beneficial:

· Experience in the application of driver assistance systems.

· Understanding of planar and 3D geometry.

· Experience with big scale projects.

· Proficiency in Python and Matlab.

· A technology enthusiast and critical thinker with a knack for problem-solving.

· Curiously investigate everything – ability to solving problems analytically, creatively and collaboratively.
