Pay Range: $91,200.00 - $155,000.00 Annually

Group/Division

The Global Service Support Organization (GSS) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The GSS organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities:

As an Algorithms Engineer, you will develop algorithms and software applications for improved diagnostics and predictive maintenance of KLA's fleet of tools. You will closely collaborate with Software, Algorithms, Service, and Application Teams to gather and analyze technical requirements and success criteria, then develop complex data analysis algorithms. You will responsible for exploring data, understanding correlations, extracting features, selecting appropriate analysis techniques, developing predictive models using custom algorithms, and performing necessary tests and tuning. You will work with engineering domain experts to evaluate the algorithm results and select the optimal solution.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of statistics, data structures, and algorithms
  • Practical experience developing analytics and algorithms in Python (understanding of object-oriented design is a plus)
  • Sound understanding of data analytics and machine learning models for regression, classification problems
  • Effective communication and team interaction skills
  • Creative problem-solver who is motivated to learn independently

Desired:

Having some of following types of experience is useful:

  • Statistical analysis, pattern recognition, prediction modeling, working with time-series data
  • Working with structured/unstructured databases
  • Designing and implementing User Interfaces
  • Encryption and security concepts and practices
  • Building, maintaining, or repairing scientific instruments or other mechanical, electrical, and/or optical systems

Hybrid Work:

This position allows flexibility and may require at least 2-3 days/week in the office.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate Degree, or Masters with two years of experience, or Bachelors with five years of relevant experience, with a degree in computer science/analytics/machine learning/data science/engineering (mechanical, electrical, systems)/ physics, or related technical field.
