SUMMARY

This is an exciting time to join our Due Diligence Services Team! Having recently built our Qvidian RFP database in partnership with a Qvidian expert consultant, we are seeking an Alternative Investments Due Diligence Writer who can hit the ground running.  The Alternative Investments Due Diligence Writer will join our Due Diligence Services Team within the Marketing organization. This individual will support our existing business in a critical client retention role crafting responses to existing client quarterly, annual and reoccurring Due Diligence questionnaires, RFIs and other questionnaires of the like. In this capacity, the Alternative Investments Due Diligence Writer will leverage our response database to leverage and customize existing responses to commercially position the firm’s investment capabilities, processes and operational infrastructure to the optimal outcome of retaining existing mandates. In addition, this person will project manage data and performance related portions of these requests, partnering with the Fund Data and Analytics team to source appropriate data-related responses. Finally, where new or custom responses are needed, this individual will partner with various subject matter experts across the firm to develop the appropriate content. This individual will play an integral role in upholding the firm’s reputation and to retaining assets of our existing global client base. This role requires an understanding of the alternative investment space, strong written and oral communication skills, a high attention to detail and critical thinking and leadership skills, the ability to work in a dynamic group environment, and project management capabilities.


RESPONSIBILITIES           

The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:

  • Coordinate responses to DDQs, RFIs, and other questionnaires from existing clients and in relation to existing mandates across our alternative investment platform, which includes hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure and real estate. Responsibilities will include, among other things, compiling existing and previously approved responses, drafting new responses, customizing existing responses for applicability to the nuances of a given mandate and question and coordinating input from various functional areas throughout the firm where necessary.
  • Partner with Fund Data and Analytics team to source performance and data needs and analyze data to complete quantitative components of RFPs/RFIs and ensure data provided is accurate and applicable.  
  • Draft written responses to questions based on verbal direction or summary information from other departments to strategically position the firm and demonstrate how we can/are meeting the investor’s needs.
  • Liaise with senior members of Business Development, Investments, Finance, Operations, Technology and Legal to develop holistic and effective responses on deadline.
  • Maintain and develop the Firm’s internal database of approved client responses. 
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide constructive feedback for questionnaires.
  • Manage individual pipeline of questionnaires while developing internal project timelines for stakeholders to ensure all deadlines are met. 
  • Provide ongoing input regarding process and technology improvements.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:  

  • Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience working in due diligence for alternative investment or asset management firms.  Knowledge of hedge funds, private equity, infrastructure and/or real estate strongly preferred.
  • Superior technical investment acumen and the ability to think strategically and commercially about the positioning of investment capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of the institutional sales process and the role of RFP within.
  • Excellent writing, and editing, skills (writing samples will be required). RFP or diligence-writing experience a strong plus.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to marshal resources, communicate and manage timelines and responsibilities to senior members of the firm.
  • A high attention to detail, including solid proofreading skills is critical.
  • Ability to understand and analyze financial data.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, meet competing deadlines, and effectively balance priorities.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to task management. Ability to take control and manage tasks or projects independently from start to end.
  • Demonstrated team player with proven ability to get results from senior management and communicate with peers.
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Experience with RFP systems, Salesforce, and/or Tableau is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Economics, English or a related field.
