Purpose of Job:


Oversee the NPI (new product introduction) build technician team and its activities for laser powder bed fusion machine development, assembly, testing, and operation, and ensures feedback is communicated upstream to improve the machine. Ensures build and test milestones and goals are met in collaboration with other AM Development teams and provides feedback and input regarding NPI of complex electromechnical capital equipment. 


Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:


Supervise shop floor activities, including daily schedules, workflow, training, and skills matrix. 


Lead and manage a team of technicians, handling performance management tasks. 


Leads and works with the team of technicians to assemble and test at all levels of component through full system without clear documentation or instructions. 


Owns the shop floor including tool management and 5S. 


Resolves issues related to the machine in order to maintain progress during build, test, calibration, and operation activities. 


Provides feedback regarding the machine design, process, work instructions, and other documentation. 


Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and implements solutions. 


Collaborate with the machine development team to improve machine reliability and performance. 


Support RCCA activities to identify root causes of manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of these issues.

Shop floor (primary), office 


Requirements:


Education: High school diploma preferred 


Ability to lift 50 lbs 


Experience:


7+ years of hands-on build, NPI, or manufacturing experience on the shop floor 


5+ years of experience leading a team of technicians 


Experience in L-BPF or industrial capital equipment is a plus 


Experience in NPI development through production lifecycle is a plus
