Divergent has invented a complete manufacturing solution to address system level challenges. The Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) is a complete software hardware solution designed to replace traditional vehicle manufacturing. To make the complex simple, it is a complete modular digital factory for complex structures. Given a set of digital requirements as input, the machine automatically computationally engineers, additively manufactures, and assembles any complex structure. The system is able to move seamlessly between manufacturing different vehicle models.


Purpose of Job:

Divergent Technologies, Inc is currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be responsible for extensive operational quality-related functions focused on all stages of additive manufacturing (AM) processes. This position requires a problem solver with extensive knowledge in root cause analysis, adept at identifying and addressing issues to prevent recurrence and ensure product integrity. The engineer must adapt quickly to the fast-paced evolution of additive manufacturing, engaging in continuous learning to stay at the forefront of technological advancements.


The Additive Manufacturing Quality Engineer will act as the command center for all data and trends related to 3D printing development and production performance. With a sharp focus on process improvement & compliance, this role is designed for an individual who excels in data analysis, systematic trend evaluation, and driving operational excellence. Your expertise will not only involve real-time process monitoring but also leading complex root cause analysis, setting up proactive systems to avert issues, and ensuring seamless delta qualifications amidst changes in material, processes, machines, or environmental conditions in the AM realm.

Essential Job Functions and Performance Standards:

1)Serve as the central hub for performance data and trends, leveraging advanced data analysis techniques to monitor, predict, and enhance 3D printing production efficiency.

2)Lead comprehensive root cause analysis on complex issues, employing a methodical approach to identify underlying factors and implement long-term sustainable solutions.

3)Develop and maintain systems designed to provide proactive triggers and alerts, minimizing downtime and preventing production issues before they occur.

4)Take charge of delta qualifications triggered by new material development, new processes, machine upgrades, or environmental adjustments, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining product quality standards.

5)Collaborate closely with the operations and AM technology teams, ensuring a cohesive strategy that aligns with production goals and company-wide objectives.

6)Implement and oversee continuous improvement projects, utilizing your deep understanding of additive manufacturing processes to drive innovation and efficiency.

7)Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technological developments, applying this knowledge to enhance production capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.

8)Champion the dissemination of knowledge and best practices within the organization, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.


Requirements:


•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or closely related fields.

•Minimum 3 years of direct experience in quality engineering within the additive manufacturing or 3D printing sector.

•Exceptional skills in data analysis and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.

•Demonstrated expertise in conducting detailed root cause analysis and developing effective preventative strategies.

•Proven track record in managing delta qualifications and ensuring product quality amidst changes.

•Strong communication skills, adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams and leading through influence.

•Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

•Commitment to staying at the cutting edge of additive manufacturing technologies and practices.



Work Environment:

Work occurs in both an office setting and throughout the manufacturing environment including but not limited to print rooms, . As such, it potentially includes hot and/or humid conditions while wearing required PPE.



Physical Demands:

•Ability to lift 40 lbs. and exert force to move equipment around the facility

•Work in potentially humid/hot conditions

•Ability to wear all required PPE for assigned tasks/training
