Responsibilities

• Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, robust APIs to support internal and customer needsWrite both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasksDevelop high quality, well documented, and efficient code Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloudOptimize internal and external applications for performance and scalabilityDevelop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and write both unit and integration testsCommunicate regularly with stakeholders, project managers, quality assurance teams, and other developers regarding progress on long-term technology roadmapRecommend systems solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchased alternatives

Key Skills

• Domain Expertise 8+ years of experience developing software5-7 years of experience as a backend developer working with Java5+ years of experience developing with Scala. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Technical Skills Strong understanding of fundamentals of computer science and engineering. Proficient in developing backend systems and services Proficient with AWS. Proficient in deploying and manipulating systems on Windows and Linux. Experience with database systems, with knowledge of SQL. Ability to write effective unit, integration, and API tests. Plus: knowledge of immutable infrastructure, infrastructure automation and provisioning tools
