This is a hybrid position. The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office an average of two to three days per week with the remainder worked remotely.
Reporting to the Head of TBA Product Management Transaction Services & Digital Channels. This position will be responsible for the managing the payables and receivables products for Transaction Banking as well as overseeing the Transaction Banking product portfolio transaction pricing, revenue management and its control agenda. The payable and receivables products include ACH, Checks Services, Lockbox, Remote Deposit Capture, Total Biller Solutions. Revenue Management activities include optimizing use of Transaction Banking billing platform, fee schedule management, and exception pricing process.
Responsibilities include leading a team of product managers and product analysts to drive and manage the end-to-end Product & Service lifecycle for payables and receivables products that will be delivered to both Global Corporate Investment Bank (GCIB) and Japanese Corporate Investment Bank (JCIB) clients. There will also be active engagement with Transaction Banking Division in Tokyo to support global product strategic initiatives as it relates to payables and receivables products.
In addition to aligning with GCIB / JCIB RMs and TBD Tokyo, critical to success will be aligning the team, and associated functional partners within TB Sales, Client Delivery and Risk as well as Operations, Technology, and second line risk and control functions that support the Transaction Banking business.
The key areas within the product management lifecycle and associated responsibilities are as follows:
- Strategic Direction - Drive and execute overall payables and receivables product strategy and how it supports overall TB Cash Management strategy meeting financial and commercial objectives:
- Develop and Manage Product Plans - Product plans include market review, financial deep dive revenue and cost analysis, and investment priorities.
- Manage and execute investment process for payables and receivables products - Identify investment priorities and execute delivery of approved projects to market. Maintain an awareness of major industry trends and evaluate enhancement opportunities as well as represent bank at industry events, conference and client advisory sessions.
- Manage and execute investment and non-investment projects that deliver on strategic objectives - Activities include Business Case and BRD development, UAT execution, new product approval process, and RCSA updates.
- Commercialization and change management activities - training, marketing, process re-engineering.
- Day to Day Management - Deliver quality products to market, ensuring MUFG's payables and receivables products meet customers' needs, are understood, used and priced appropriately, and comply with the bank's risk management framework:
- Meet financial targets: - Manage client pricing. Determine standard pricing, and review / approve exception pricing, and manage annual pricing and agreement reviews.
- Support sales effort - ensure products can be implemented and serviced, review and price deals.
- Ensure products meet client expectations - Continually review operating model of products and lead efforts to address control gaps and identify and manage MSI resolution. Additionally address client implementation issues, becoming escalation point for 3rd parties managed by OTA, supporting TB payables and receivables products - ie BNY Mellon, Fiserv, Alias Wire, and Worldpay.
- Product Governance - Ensure products are delivered and monitored in accordance with Product Governance Frameworks defined with the bank
- Key governance activities include participating and driving Management Business Reviews, Investment Planning, Management Self Identified (MSI) risk, Standard Operating Manuals SOMs), Third Party Management, Product Services Risk Assessment (PSRA), RCSA refresh, and Deal Review management in support of overall product portfolio and payables and receivables products.
The incumbent should be highly motivated and organized, with exceptional communication skills who not only demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills but is an excellent listener. The individual will be a change agent, playing a key leadership within Transaction Banking which includes exhibiting proven matrix management skills to partner with teams across the organization. The individual must be able to manage multi-faceted engagements and is a problem solver who can quickly identify and address complex issues, aligning teams across multiple organizations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with strong quantitative and data analysis skills
- 15+ years of experience with a strong background in product management and business analysis or equivalent experiences
- Proven product management or equivalent experience that can be applied to product responsibilities with successful track record in Transaction Banking.
- Cash Management / Transaction Banking product knowledge in payables and receivables products, includes understanding product value proposition, market and regulatory trends, and operational and technology requirements, that could influence its go forward strategy.
- Strong command of oral and written English communications skills
- Strong proficiency in business analyst methodology and templates with deep analytical skills.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $160,000 - $195,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
