The Americas Payroll team handles the payroll for internal PayPal colleagues located in US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Brazil. The team of experts includes a LATAM Payroll Manager and Payroll Analysts located in Arizona, Nebraska, Brazil, and Mexico.

Leadership

  • Develop team members and enable success.
  • Assume ownership of the entire payroll process, from payroll journal entries to reconciliations and final payroll results, ensuring its seamless execution.
  • Lead the team through periods of growth and change, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the payroll process and priorities, bring industry trends and best practices to enhance our payroll functions objectives and goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of payroll operations, including company liabilities, meticulous review of payroll changes, and the establishment of crucial controls.

Compliance

  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to achieving 100% compliance and accuracy across our diverse workforce, spanning multiple states and Americas payroll base.

Business Partnership

  • You will partner closely with our HR business team and cross-functional experts responsible for building a great experience. You will assume centralized ownership of best in breed HR applications/tools to set vision and build toward a best-in-class future state.
  • Build and nurture influential partnerships with key stakeholders in the business. Act as a conduit between payroll and other parts of the business.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive ongoing improvements in our payroll processes to accommodate our growing legal entities, employee base, and technology solutions.
  • Bring project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, drive new processes, platform capabilities, and manage scope, schedule, and resources.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead your team to deliver payroll, accurately and on-time for all PayPal employees in the America's region, while driving operational effectiveness and a transparent employee experience.
  • Build and nurture influential partnerships with key stakeholders in the business. Act as a conduit between payroll and other parts of the business.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the payroll process and priorities, bring industry trends and best practices to enhance our payroll functions objectives and goals.

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aimed at enhancing payroll systems and processes.
  • Exhibit operational excellence through effective leadership, including supervision and collaboration with our Human Resources and Benefits teams.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of operational excellence, from payroll journal entries to reconciliations and final payroll results.
  • Lead the team through periods of growth and change, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Bring project management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects, drive new processes, platform capabilities, and managing scope, schedule, and resources.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, human resource management, or a relevant field preferred; or equivalent experience. CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation highly recommended.
  • Possess a demonstrable track record with over 10 years of experience in overseeing Payroll or a combination of Payroll and Accounting experience, including responsibilities for payroll audit, process enhancement, payroll controls and compliance, and data entry management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of team leadership experience, with a proven track record of developing direct reports.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency with ADP GlobalView and Streamline, Workday HCM (Human Capital Management), and/or other major payroll platforms.
  • Advanced familiarity with labor legislation and federal tax laws.
  • Exhibit a capacity to work autonomously, driving project toward predefined objectives and goals.
  • Communicate with precision, ensuring a clear conveyance of project status, identified problems, proposed resolutions, and recommended courses of action.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement and the implementation of innovative technologies. Independently manage teams, including results-oriented supervision, goal setting, performance management, and coaching.
  • Possess the ability to synthesize information and data into compelling narratives that provide valuable insights into broader business challenges.
  • Frequently engage with internal and external stakeholders to make operational decisions and define business requirements. Analyze the consequences of conclusions and actions on people, technology, structure, and workflow across diverse teams.
  • Cultivate a culture of growth and learning, providing team members with challenging opportunities to develop strong capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a steadfast commitment to improving processes, structures, and knowledge within the team. Work with the Payroll Transformation Team to analyze current states, deliver robust recommendations, understand complexity in the environment, and execute complex solutions to completion.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in your specialty area. Identify the future state and dimensions of change (organizational, technological, cultural) required for achievement.
  • Maintain a holistic perspective when analyzing information and employ analytical thinking to consider long-term implications.
