AMI Endpoint Support Analyst

This AMI Endpoint Support Analyst (Information Systems Analyst) will ensure that all meters are programmed and operating correctly and reporting data; analyze the daily performance of all meters, ensure the continuity and quality of data; and identify potential operational problem areas. This analyst will ensure the resolution of any meter exceptions caused by system performance, application, or system failures to transmit meter data to other systems, such as CSS. The analyst will work with other team members to prepare daily analysis of meters' performance, report problem areas to summarize performance trends, and develop operational processes to improve data collection.

The AMI Endpoint Support Analyst will work closely with our partner organizations: Energy Sales and Services, Technology Organization, Customer Services, Regulatory, Power Delivery, and Metering Services. Strong relationships and clear communication between these groups is needed to ensure meter data is provided to all required systems in a timely manner.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• 2 years of experience in information systems analysis and/or metering systems.

• Experience in meter programming and configuration, rate code modeling, and related tasks is preferred.

• Knowledge of the Sensus FlexNet network and how it integrates with metering systems.

• Knowledge of software development principles and experience with programming languages like C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript, and Python is a plus.

• Experience in database management (Oracle, MSSQL, and/or PostgreSQL) is a plus.

• Experience with data science techniques and tools like machine learning and data visualization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work and communicate effectively with the internal partner departments, managers, vendors, and suppliers.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Occasional "on call" assignments/irregular hours will be required to support real-time business systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain meter programming and configuration for electrical metering systems.

• Ensure accurate rate code configuration in metering systems.

• Manage endpoint firmware updates for all device types.

• Work with Southern Company's enterprise tools like Maximo and JETS to manage metering projects.

• Conduct analysis of meter data to identify trends and insights.

• Work with cross-functional teams to implement new features and functionality in metering systems.

• Develop software applications and tools to support metering system operations.

• Utilize data science techniques to analyze metering data and develop predictive models.

• Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure data quality and integrity.

• Maintain Meter Data Management (MDM) systems, with a preference for experience with Oracle MDM.

• Support all AMI Network Sales projects including electrical, water, and gas systems.
