In this role, you will be responsible for Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, economic sanctions, and other related financial crimes laws and regulations, directives, guidance, and best practices. Develop and execute a risk-based Quality Control (QC) program focused on the review of the design, effectiveness, and overall quality of AML alert reviews, case investigations, Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs), Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), Customer Due Diligence (CDD) reviews, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews of higher risk members as it relates to applicable regulations and adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and processes. Prepare reports on review findings, recommended enhancements, and the status of corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and lead the implementation of process enhancements to address identified risks or gaps in procedures and processes related to AML investigations and EDD reviews.
- Maintain a database containing the results of QC reviews and track recommended corrective actions.
- Provide reports on QC results to BSA/AML Department management in a clear, concise manner.
- Identify AML transaction monitoring, EDD review, or other related BSA/AML key risks and mitigating factors.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain training programs for AML transaction monitoring and EDD review staff.
- Monitor and stay current with BSA/AML and OFAC regulatory, industry developments, and best practices.
- Develop key risk and performance indicators to monitor effectiveness and efficiency.
- Build relationships with the Lines of Business and act as a subject matter expert to employees.
- Provide feedback, guidance, and training to staff based on QC review findings, best practices, regulatory requirements, internal audit/regulator feedback to achieve operational efficiencies, improve quality and mitigate operational and compliance risks.
- Assist with fraud detection strategies and effectiveness and projects related to the BSA/AML program and AML.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors Degree - Business, finance or related
Years of Experience:
- 3 years - A ML compliance or a related
In Leiu of Education:
- 6 years - A ML compliance or a related
License/Certifications/Training:
- Preferred: Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS)
