Job Description

As a Business & Legal Affairs Analyst will provide support to the US litigation team and report to the Sr. Vice President, Head of US Litigation, B&LA and Director, Litigation Support & Copyright Administration.

What you'll do:
  • Work with the litigation team and our digital business group to assist in efforts to reduce copyright infringement of SME’s catalog and obtain compensation for SME’s labels and artists. Tasks will include researching and documenting infringing uses on social media, confirming relevant rights, working with worldwide databases, gathering relevant copyright information and contracts, and working with other departments to obtain relevant information.
  • File litigation-relevant copyright registrations and otherwise support the processing of copyright registrations. 
  • Work closely with outside law firms and vendors, including in the context of discovery and other filings for litigations.
  • Support the management of copyright termination claims by, among other things, assessing notices, researching files and records, and tracking deadlines.
Who you are:
  • Law Degree a plus, but not required
  • Law firm or other legal-related experience a plus
  • Copyright experience a plus
  • Familiar with working with large databases and Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to thrive under time pressure deadlines
  • Highly efficient, with an ability to effectively multi-task and independently manage time.
  • Avid social media user, familiarity with technology and trends
  • Knowledge of and passion for music
