About the Job

BWAM is looking for a Multifamily Data Analyst to join the Asset Management Team. The ideal candidate is a savvy problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and consistently exceeds expectations.

We are seeking an agile team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with different parts of the organization. An ideal candidate will have a strong interest in data analytics. Successful candidates for this position will have the equivalent of zero to three years of relevant professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of (produce) routine weekly and monthly reporting of key multifamily operational metrics
• Assist in the buildout (implement process & procedure) of data aggregation templates to standardize and manage multifamily data
• Assist in the buildout and ongoing maintenance of operational and financial dashboards utilizing internal portfolio data and third party research data to support investment analysis and decision making at the portfolio level
  • Help spearhead the transition to Tableau for reporting deliverables, which will ultimately serve as a centralized data repository for all multifamily portfolio data
• Analyze and aggregate third party research that includes macroeconomic and demographic data (employment/wage growth/incomes) to support periodic market commentary
• Liaison between equity asset management, research, technology, portfolio management, and accounting teams
• Support the multifamily portfolio financial performance tracking, including rent growth, operating expense analysis, budget variance, q-o-q performance changes, and quarterly valuation support
• Review and audit the consistency and accuracy of internal accounting statement and data mapping processes
• Perform ad-hoc portfolio investment analyses to assist with answering due diligence questions from LP fund investors

• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills
• Dynamic team player with strong integrity, a high degree of professionalism and the ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, including:
  • Good interpersonal, communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excessive attention to detail, outstanding initiative and an eagerness to learn with a strong work ethic
  • Completion of a high level of work within tight timeframes; successfully manages competing deadlines
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and work with limited direct guidance
• A bachelor's degree is required 

Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000

• Asset-level analytics: Providing quantitative and qualitative investment- and portfolio-level performance reports by consolidating and analyzing monthly operating statements produced by operating partners to track and monitor performance against initial underwriting;
• Active Asset Management Support: The team works closely with Acquisition Teams to help monitor all strategic and joint-venture operating partners on a day-to-day basis. Responsibilities include weekly leasing calls, monthly operational reviews, annual budget and business plan reviews and financial analysis;
• Investment and Fund-level Reforecasting: BWAM is responsible for creating proprietary investment-level valuation models for the portfolio to enhance our ability to reforecast investment-and fund-level performance on a routine basis.
