Role Summary:
The candidate will assist Global Atlantic’s Operational Risk team in all aspects of Operational Risk Management. We are looking for someone who is driven, interested in risk management field, has attention to details and possess strong analytical skills. Successful candidate typically excels in a dynamic work environment and can take on a diverse set of responsibilities while delivering quality results. This role would require a candidate to collaborate and interact with employees at all levels of organization and as such, a successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal effectiveness, strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as ability to work independently and as part of the team. As part of a growing Company and team, our candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with and learn from the broader Risk organization. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to one or more of the below areas:
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize Risk Management processes to improve Risk Management function
- Assist Risk Owners in developing effective risk management programs
- Work collaboratively with Risk Owners to develop opportunities to improve operational excellence
- Assist in organizing, coordinating and documenting outcomes of various committees / working groups (putting together presentations, drafting Meeting Minutes, etc.)
- Perform ongoing risk assessment and participate in annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Participate in investigation of risk events (instances of materialized operational risk)
- Initiate and implement enhancements to the Risk Management platform (including writing business requirements and running tests)
- Analyze new regulations affecting Risk Management function
- Conduct research and benchmark analysis
- Assist Risk Management team across all areas of operations risk management, including, but not limited to Model Risk, Third Party Risk, Climate Risk etc.
- Leverage project management solutions to track project’s status; provide periodic status updates on projects/tasks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (a degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Management, Business Administration and Computer Science is preferred)
- 0 to 2 years of experience in related fields is a strong plus (Risk Management, Internal Audit, Consulting)
- Excellent project management/organizational skills with demonstrated skill in managing competing priorities
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); proficiency in Tableau a strong plus
- Experience with data analysis, system implementation (e.g., writing business requirements) and SQL proficiency is a plus
