Analyst, Gas Marketing

Job Summary

Assists Manager, Natural Gas Marketing and Gas Marketing Representatives with defined responsibilities and special project assignments that require a working knowledge of the E&P side of the natural gas industry including well connects and the functionality of the different gas industry segments. Environment is very dynamic, candidate must possess the ability to think independently and change priorities as directed.

Performs a wide variety of tasks; contributes to process improvements. Leads the work of small project teams; may formally train less experienced team members. Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices in the area of specialization. Identifies possible solutions for problems/issues of diverse scope using existing solutions. Works under general supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Acquires knowledge of industry developments through contact with customers and counterparts in other companies and through industry trade associations
• Gains working knowledge of laws regulating natural gas sales
• Assembles initial critical information for Pre-Drill wells including location plats, contract summary, and nearby gathering companies
• Distributes internal first sales notices for all inside and outside operated wells.
• Responsible for gathering marketing information for drilling outside operated wells.
• Assists with a range of marketing responsibilities including assessing competition, evaluating contract terms and providing after-sale customer service
• Works with pipeline and geographic information systems personnel to create maps for drilling areas.
• Evaluates monthly settlement statements and presents key findings
• Runs monthly ethane election process & associated financial models
• Assesses opportunities to improve/increase the utilization of CLR owned gas infrastructure
• Ad hoc reporting as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum of one (1) year in oil & gas marketing, well connects, gas contract management, firm and interruptible gas transportation, or similar financial field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a closely related field
• Experience in an Exploration and Production marketing environment

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
