Analyst I, Fraud Strategy and Analytics

The Fraud Strategy & Analytics team works cross-functionally with Machine Learning, Product, Engineering, and Fraud Operations to combat fraudulent activities and to foster a safe platform.

What You'll Do

• Help support our team's fraud monitoring,  detection and mitigation efforts

• Participate in a rotation serving as a main point of contact for fraud escalations

• Research emerging fraud trends by analyzing data and monitoring key fraud metrics to proactively identify and address potential risks

What We Look For

• EXPERIENCE - Minimum 1 year of experience in fraud prevention, risk management, or related fields, including prior experience with data analytics in the finance or lending industry preferred.

• TECHNICAL SKILLS - Proficiency with data analysis using SQL is required. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data are essential. Hands-on experience using a scripting language, such as Python or R, for data analysis is preferred. 

• PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE - Passion for understanding and enhancing fraud detection systems to effectively identify and mitigate fraudulent activities. 

• INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE - Working knowledge of the fundamentals of payment processing and an understanding of industry risk trends, including familiarity with risk strategy development

• COMMUNICATION - Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• MULTI-TASKING - Strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities

• EDUCATION - Bachelor’s degree in a quantitatively rigorous field like engineering, statistics, math, finance, economics desired

Base Pay Grade - I

Equity Grade - 3

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.

Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)

CAN base pay range per year: $90,000 - $130,000
