Analyst II, Business Intelligence

Job Summary:

The Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for contributing to the reporting and analytics framework of iHerb. This critical role will lead different business units to identify analytical needs in order to effectively define metrics and KPIs, automate reporting, and create data visualizations. The position will develop data architecture, manage data sources, and create dashboards for a wide range of end users, ranging from managers to senior executives that help make data-driven decisions and drive strategy.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and large datasets. They will have strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. They will have strong SQL skills and data modeling experience. 

 Job Expectations:

·           Lead regular discussions with internal stakeholders to obtain information for Adhoc/routine reporting and analysis needs. Consider needs and ask incisive questions to uncover requirements in order to provide effective solutions.

·        Gather, organize, and analyze data (structured/unstructured) to inform strategy, formulate insights, and make actionable recommendations.

·         Design and develop dashboards that provide a clear view of the business by visually translating complex data into actionable insights.

·         Write complex SQL queries to create tables, views, and stored procedures in SQL Server that will house the necessary data to feed Tableau dashboards and other reporting tools.

·         Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis that provides meaningful insights and synthesized recommendations to support informed decision-making.

·         Communicate data-related information succinctly and effectively that is geared to the intended audience for maximum benefit.

·         Monitor published information regularly and follow up timely when corrections are necessary to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity at all times.

·         Work in unison with the Business System and DBA teams to define data and develop data architecture for the purpose of producing reports efficiently and accurately.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Required:   

·           Proficient with SQL and the ability to combine multiple data sources to create a single source of truth.

·         Proven analytical and quantitative skills and an ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, develop business cases, influence business decisions, and complete root cause analyses.

·         Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. (Experience leading discussions with senior-level executives)

· Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

·         Able to organize and prioritize work, meet tight deadlines from competing stakeholders.  

Experience and Educational Requirements:

·             Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields.  MBA or Master’s degree a plus.

·         4+ years of industry experience in role(s) like Data/Business analyst, Data Engineer, Business Intelligence, or equivalent.

·         4+ years of data modeling with SQL, ETL management, and data warehousing experience.

·         Experience developing reports and dashboards utilizing visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and SSRS.

·         Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and G Suite office tools.    

Preferred Experience:

·           Knowledgeable in web analytics and experience working with Google Analytics data

·         Understanding of marketing and product analytics with the ability to conduct analysis related to customer's journey, user activity, product/feature & marketing performance, and digital analytics

·         Experience with working in BigQuery and DataStudio  

Preferred Experience:

·         Experience with operational, supply chain, and/or logistics data analytics.

·        Experience with Python Jupyter Notebook
