About the team and position

We’re looking for an Analyst, Information Security to join our internal Security Operations Team that is responsible for monitoring the Carvana environment for security risks, threats, and exposures.  In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, triaging, and prioritizing security alerts and implementing security controls to improve our overall security risk posture.  

What you’ll be doing

• Investigate, triage, monitor and analyze security events and incidents from a wide variety of cybersecurity technologies such as endpoint security tools, network security tools, etc.  
• Assess the impact of security alerts and traffic anomalies to identify malicious activities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.  
• Identify and help implement preventative controls to mitigate risks from security events and incidents.
• Document and communicate incidents throughout the incident response lifecycle.  
• Create and/or maintain incident response documentation including the Incident Response Plan, Incident Response Playbooks, SOP’s, etc.  
• Participate in incident response tabletop exercise to determine readiness and preparedness to address cyber security risks with the potential to impact the organization and identify opportunities to improve the process and/or documentation.  
• Partner with various stakeholders across the business to improve overall security posture.  
• Stay current on latest security trends, threats, and advisories.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you should have

• 1-3 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology.  
• Broad knowledge of network protocols, firewall functionality, encryption technologies, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Familiarity with security incident management and security operations.
• Familiarity with various cyber security tools and technologies. 
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.  
• Eagerness to learn.  
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.  
• Effective communication skills. 
• Willingness to be on-call to support after hours and weekends.
