Position Overview

As an Analyst, ITAM you will actively manage hardware and software assets within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and recording software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The Analyst, ITAM will also develop and make recommendations to improve procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. This role reports to the Director, IT Business Administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and maintain copies of software licenses, warranties, maintenance agreements, and vendor contracts, according to processes and procedures currently in place.
  • Enter all software and hardware serial numbers or identification tags into tracking tool and ensure information is up to date, accurate, and auditable.
  • Perform inventories and usage monitoring of all IT assets and record all findings, changes, physical location, and incidences of support.
  • Routine review of license assignment and add/modify/remove as needed
  • Explore opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI from company resources.
  • Sort and stock all hardware and signal replenishment when appropriate.
  • Assign laptops and desktops for tickets and deliver to Endpoint team for imaging.
  • Receive returns from Service Desk, HR, and walk-ins.
  • Segregate hardware based on condition and update status as deployable and non-deployable.
  • Ensure deployable hardware is clean and ready for deployment.
  • Possess an understanding of various software licensing models and software contract terms.
  • Proficiency with office productivity software (MS Office Suite, including Excel to review large data sets) and SharePoint Preferences Familiar with and experienced in the taking of Enterprise inventories, including techniques such as scanning, ongoing electronic inventory tracking.
  • Participate in evaluation of the asset management process.
  • Possess an understanding of the various types of current IT Hardware technologies (network switches, routers, firewalls, appliances, servers, storage arrays, desktop/notebooks and various types of IT components and peripherals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience IT Asset Management industry certification(s) highly desired.
  • 1 - 3 years related work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, position-appropriate mentoring/leadership abilities, ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes, capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities, and a deep customer service orientation, both internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of computing and computer systems, hardware, software and peripheral equipment.
  • Works well both alone or in a team setting.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
