The role
SoFi's Model Risk Management (MRM) team has responsibility for assuring that all quantitative models used at SoFi are identified, inventoried, risk-rated, documented, independently validated, and monitored in accordance with internal policies.This continuous effort is required to assure that all current and planned models remain compliant with all aspects of SoFi's model governance program.SoFi holds a national bank charter from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, necessitating a strong Model Risk Management program. The Model Risk Governance Analyst will perform highly visible and important work and will touch virtually all functional areas within SoFi.
What you'll do:
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Model Risk Management team and model owners, model developers, and model users throughout the enterprise.
- Coordinate the onboarding of new models into the model inventory and will educate model stakeholders on all aspects of the model governance program.
- Create and manage the schedule for conducting model validations and reviews.
- Coordinate requests for approval of model changes.
- Design and produce formal reports and presentations for management and Board committees on the state of model risk at SoFi.
What you'll need:
- 2+ years of experience working in a regulated financial institution in a role heavily related to the development or use of quantitative models; a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline
- Strong analytical skills with formal training in statistical analysis
- Strong writing skills; ability to communicate technical concepts in understandable terms
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; ability to quickly learn other tools as needed
- Self-starter who is comfortable working both alone and closely with teammates and business partners
Nice to have:
- Prior model risk management experience in a banking environment
- Background in machine learning and artificial intelligence models
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate's experience, skills, and location.
