Role overview
The Analyst, Revenue Accounting, will be responsible for assisting in forecasting the Company's revenue as well as maintaining various Company financial metrics for both internal and external reporting.
A day in the life...
- Lead process improvement and development of new procedures to maximize productivity and minimize re-work to enhance the speed and efficiency of the revenue forecasting cycle.
- Communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts in order to obtain the details required for accurate revenue forecasting updates in a timely manner.
- Responsible for performing various month-end/quarter-end activities to meet monthly/quarterly reporting deadlines. These include, but are not limited to, various analysis and calculation of financial metrics, preparation of slides for internal/external meetings, and working cross-functionally to address any questions. Provide ready-to-present analysis and findings of revenue results on a monthly basis to the executive teams, including the Controller, CFO, President, and CEO.
- Support external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.
- Gather data and prepare related schedules and footnotes for the Company's quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SEC filings.
- Interface with business groups throughout the Company to effectively communicate and educate on revenue requirements and associated guidance.
- Participate in ad-hoc revenue analysis and accounting projects as needed.
What we are looking for...
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2-4+ years' accounting experience, preferably working with GAAP and SEC guidelines for revenue recognition (ASC 606); Public accounting background is a plus
- Revenue forecasting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate and digest mass amounts of data required
- Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
- Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
