Job Description

EBAD seeks a capable individual for the position of Analytical Engineer Lead, reporting to the Technical Director.

Responsibilities:

The Analytical Engineering Lead will manage the analysis group as well as perform engineering and analysis tasks. This includes

  • Scheduling, coordinating and tracking analysis work/tickets. Shifting schedules to accommodate program needs, failure investigations and unforeseen upset conditions
  • Communicating with program teams on analysis needs and availability, guiding program teams on what analysis can be done for each program and what level of detail is required depending on development phase
  • Tracking/developing metrics to improve group efficiency
  • Interfacing, coordinating and managing analysis outsourcers when overflow capability is needed.
  • Maintaining software license's and computing hardware requirements
  • Researching new software's to expand group capability
  • Performing day-to-day analysis when needed

The Analytical Engineering Lead typical breakdown of responsibilities is estimated as

  • 50% managing and maintaining workflow, schedules and priorities within the group. Communicating status and resolving conflicts with internal and external customers.
  • 25% team leadership, establishing training/goals and developing best practices
  • 25% performing problem solving, engineering evaluations and analysis. Expectation is that finite element analysis, to an intermediate level proficiency is developed within the first 12 months

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a BS/MS in an engineering discipline and a minimum of 7 years of design and/or analysis of aerospace and defense products. Demonstrated people leadership, engineering fundamentals and problem solving.

Required experience includes:

  • Developing and maintaining schedules and timelines
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills for interaction with various levels of management and with customers.
  • Written reports, continuous improvement projects, power point presentations, and leading problem-solving efforts.
  • Strong follow through and ability to work with engineers to develop trades and studies in support of product development, testing, and failure investigations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite software, including scheduling software
  • Working knowledge in reading and interpreting technical product drawings.
  • Engineering interpretation of thermal/structural/dynamic analyses

Desired skills: Experience with ANSYS and SolidWorks preferred. Advanced degree preferred. Experience with energetic materials a plus. Experience with electronic assemblies and mechanical devices a plus.
