We are looking for a Analytical Linguist to join our tech client's interdisciplinary product team. This is an opportunity to impact a developing initiative for measuring fairness in large-scale language technologies.

Would you like to…

• Develop methods, practices, resources, and tools for identifying, measuring, or mitigating fairness-related harms caused by large-scale language technologies.
• Conduct “deep dives” in partnership with feature teams.
• Use expertise in linguistics and the social sciences to identify patterns across different fairness-related harms.
• Capture patterns in methods, practices, resources, and tools that can be applied across different language technologies, use cases, and deployment contexts thereby maximizing the initiative's impact.

We would like you to have…

• 4+ years of experience as a Linguist, with expertise in these three areas: natural language processing, semantics, and analytical linguistics.
• 2+ years of experience working for Microsoft or other companies in the tech industry
• Experience with fairness, ethics, responsible AI, and auditing different data sets is highly preferred.
• Exposure to Python coding language and expertise in Office 365 is preferred.
• A degree in an analytical discipline like Computer Science, Comparative Literature, English, or other interdisciplinary social science preferred.
