Job Description Summary

Manages and monitors daily cash management transactions, performs cash attributions, ensures liquidity, and prepares cash flow projections. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the development of cash buffer, determination of short-term cash to be invested, and anticipation of management action need to be taken. Responsible for collateral and liquidity management, including perform the asset and liquidity cash flow model run for different scenarios and conduct the weekly and monthly reports

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily corporate cash management and forecasting activities.
  • Produces the daily cash dashboards to show liquidity risk exposures, monitors and manages company's daily cash position.
  • Determines daily excess cash balances available for general account investment and communicates with portfolio management team.
  • Forecasts cash and liquidity buffer due to market volatility and operational cash flow volatility.
  • Maintains cash analytical systems, performed the cash attribution analysis, and coordinate with other teams and users on those systems.
  • Interfaces with accounting for general ledger upload, and cash analytical system reconciliation.
  • Recommends and implements improvements to current cash management processes.
  • Performs different collateral programs stress testing and prepare the monthly collateral reports.
  • Supports liquidity and collateral related analytics, including produce cash flow projections for liability products, derivatives, fixed income, mortgage loans and structured asset based on multiple stress scenarios.
  • Provides timely, quality resolution of inquiries and ad hoc requests. Ensure timely, quality resolution of cash, liquidity, and collateral analysis.
  • Aggressively embrace new technologies to improve current workflows.
  • Ensures compliance with SOX controls, RCSA, internal audit and other rules governing cash transaction, liquidity management, and collateral management.
  • Works closely with cross functional partners including Corporate Treasury, Risk management, Portfolio manager, investment reporting, and broader finance organization to ensure collaboration and process efficiencies are maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, statistics, related science field, finance, or related business field
  • Academic or other exposure in one or more of the following areas: Insurance liability, asset valuation, derivatives modeling, liquidity management, machine learning, artificial intelligence
  • Good understanding of investment and finance concepts, and be able to creatively apply in solving analytical problems in the business setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates high quality judgment, organizational and prioritization skills. Experience with derivatives and overall capital and financial markets.
  • Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures.
  • Good understanding of investment and finance concepts and be able to creatively apply them in solving analytical problems in the business setting.
  • Good understanding of investment and insurance products, with knowledge of at least one of life insurance, fixed and payout annuities, or long-term care products being most preferable.
  • Good understanding of derivatives modeling (Future, Forward, Swap, Option pricing, sensitivity, risk, and Cash flow forecasting)
  • Good understanding of liquidity management (understand stress liquidity event, driver of liquidity demand and supply relate to insurance company, and liquidity cost)
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills.
  • A proactive action taker and doer.
  • Works well under pressure and within time constraints to effectively accomplish individual and team objectives.
  • Excellent computer skills: Database management and coding skills: SQL, Alteryx, Python, R and VBA or equivalent coding languages.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid employees will need to work at a Company office location at times and a remote work location (typically their home) at times.
