Analytical Scientist

Position Overview

Solid Power is seeking an Analytical Scientist to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries. This position will be responsible for conducting FIB/SEM-based processing and data analysis, helping develop necessary analytical procedures, and maintaining the analytical equipment. 

Job Duties

• Perform R&D materials characterization and post-mortem analysis including FIB-SEM, EDS, EBSD, Tof-SIMS, and others
• Develop the required workflows and analytical methodology to answer key questions about materials and battery performance
• Maintain analytical equipment and software tools

• Use the company’s document and change control system to properly archive technical documentation
• Work closely, collaboratively, and effectively with other departments and team members

Qualifications/Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, material science, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years’ industrial experience as an analytical scientist. Experience in Lithium or Li ion batteries is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of analytical and characterization techniques including FIB-SEM, EDS, EBSD, ToF-SIMS, and processing serial FIB/SEM 3D datasets
• Rapid learner and self-motivated who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Salary Range: $71,000 - $132,000/year
