Medisolv is seeking an Analytics Data Engineer to join the Advanced Analytics Team. In collaboration with the data science team and other engineers, you will be responsible for designing, testing, implementing and maintaining data integrations, as well as performing analytic computations that support healthcare quality metrics, risk adjustment, predictive analytics and reporting applications. This platform's architecture merges data from multiple staging environments in combination with extract files into a single database used for analytic processing. In addition, some web application development will be required.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Assist in maintaining Medisolv's cloud-based data infrastructure (primarily Azure SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and Databricks)
  • Maintain and develop complex measures which include risk-adjusted measures
  • Develop ETL pipelines - from Medisolv's staging platform to Application platform and analytics computation platform
  • Deploy Advanced Analytics calculations using Python for production use
  • Recommend and implement performance optimization plans
  • Explore ways to automate tasks and enhance data quality and reliability
  • Provide technical services, documentation, and assist with the troubleshooting of issues with integration or analytic results
  • Adhering to Medisolv's privacy and security policies required to manage protected health information
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc scrums, departmental meetings, as well as assisting in developing strategic and business continuity plans
  • Establishes and enhances working relationships with other IT functions, clinical staff, and business leaders at Medisolv.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience working with cloud-based ETL processes and procedures
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server for software development
  • 5+ years working within Microsoft Azure or AWS
  • 5+ years working with .NET web development
  • 5+ years working with healthcare data
  • 3+ years of experience as a DBA using Microsoft SQL Server
  • 3+ years of Python
  • 2+ years working with C#
  • 2+ years experience with Databricks/Spark
  • 2+ years experience in use and management of source control systems, primarily Git
  • Enjoys working on a fast-paced team
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple project initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong numerical and analytic skills
  • A willingness and ability to learn new technologies and work hands-on
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electronic medical records or other healthcare related information systems
  • Experience developing and deploying cloud based systems
  • Familiar with coding taxonomies used in healthcare billing and electronic medical records, such as ICD-10 codes, CPT-4 codes, MS DRGs, SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm
  • Education or aptitude for applied mathematics.
This is a remote position. Our office is located in Columbia, Maryland.
