Analytics Engineer II - Remote

Position Purpose: An an Analytics Engineer II, you will convert analytics business requirements into technical requirements through working with IT, business, and analytics partners. These requirements will then be converted into models and analytical resources for data analysts, reports, dashboards, and business users to leverage. This position will be expected to leverage both technical and business knowledge to build high-quality, analytics-ready data products for the company. This will involve gathering requirements from various business partners and stakeholders, using their technical knowledge to guide development of solutions or even code the solutions themselves, engaging in validation and acceptance testing to ensure the quality of the data being provided, and responsible for ongoing support/enhancements to these various tables/reports.
Requirements Gathering - Occasional lead on customer/IT calls or meetings. May be designated as the primary engineering on projects of basic to moderate complexity, while interpreting requirements.
Data Modeling - Leverages an advanced understanding of data and analytics concepts to build tables and views with a level of autonomy. Emerging ability to propose solutions with little or no direction. Model sophistication ranges from few to a moderate number of related objects.
Analytics Code Development - Utilizes code management and control. Understands SDLC processes and implements them. SQL development includes more advanced methods and constructs. Develops batch pipelines to source data. Creates test plans and converts them to automated processes.
Source Code/Documentation Management - Creates source code and documentation principles. May assume responsibility/owner for code or domain knowledge associated with a product.
Defect/Bug Investigation/Remediation - Addresses bugs and defects of a moderate to difficult nature. Understands the paths and methodologies for investigation. Emerging exposure to critical defects and bugs when confidence is high of success or if the individual owns a specific set of code or domain knowledge. May recommend alternative/optimized solutions to solve issues.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Analytics, Health Information Management, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience. 3+ years of experience required. SQL experience or similar required.
Experience with DBT, Snowflake, Teradata is a plus. Python, SAS, RDM or GitLab experience a plus.
