Analytics Engineering Intern - Transforming Data and Empowering Decisions (remote or in-person)

About the Role:

Join our Analytics Engineering team in the Decision Sciences department as an intern, where you will gain invaluable experience in software development and data analysis techniques. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the larger data team by enhancing data models, developing and maintaining Python scripts, and optimizing workflows for data scientists and data analysts.

In this role, you will:

• Work with state-of-the-art data models in dbt, transforming raw data into clean, aggregated, and easily comprehensible tables
• Collaborate on Python scripts that maintain data connections with vendors, ensuring seamless data acquisition and delivery
• Contribute to the enhancement of our data operations' reliability through automated testing and accelerated code deployment processes
• Design alerts and statistical controls to notify stakeholders of significant changes in metrics and deviations from expected values
• Work with Python, Git, Redshift/PostgreSQL, data build tool (dbt), AWS, G Suite, Mac

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Solid understanding of data analysis and database structures
• Currently enrolled in a postsecondary institution studying MIS, Business Analytics/Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field, or possessing equivalent experience
• Strong academic performance with a 3.5+/4.0 GPA and/or 3+ months of internship/work experience

2. SQL and Python Questions (80 min)
3. Virtual Interview (30 min)

The compensation range for the role is $20 - $26 / hour. Our ranges are very broad to accommodate all types of candidates and encourage growth. Specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, and alignment with market data. Exceptional candidates may receive salaries outside of the posted ranges.
