What you’ll work on

Every day is different, but here’s an example of the kind of things you’ll work on:

• Lead by example in developing a team of top-notch data and analytics engineers, striving to set the industry standard for data excellence.

• Mentor a team of 3 to 6, providing support, coaching, and development through regular one-on-one meetings, ongoing feedback, and fostering strong relationships.

• Help prioritize projects and initiatives, collaborating closely with other team leads across different groups.

• Engage directly by participating in the review cycle, offering architecture and design leadership, and making your own contributions to pipeline development.

• Play an active role in the hiring process for the Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering team.

• Collaborate with other leaders to implement scalable and consistent governance and best practices.

• Oversee the project management of central Analytics Engineering projects, ensuring they are well-defined and meet deadlines.

• Build trust with various teams and the leadership, demonstrating the ability to achieve goals through both direct involvement and leadership.

About You

This role will be a great fit if you:

• You have a background in managing or mentoring high-performing analytics and data engineers, focusing on their performance and development.

• You possess experience and a passion for leading projects in data warehousing, data visualisation, big data, or ETL as an analyst, developer, designer, or architect.

• You understand what it takes to recruit outstanding talent in the data field.

• Comfortable working hands on and leading a team.

• Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery (or alternative), and an orchestrator.

• Proficiency in Kanban (i.e. ability to run data team as a product)

• Exposure to Python is a plus.
