As an Anchor you are the face of a story connecting audiences with the news that matters to their communities. You're also a leader behind the scenes playing an active role in editorial discussions and decisions. You play a critical role on a collaborative team that creates compelling timely and accurate content intended to engage and connect with viewers across traditional and digital platforms.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS
Required Qualifications

• Experience: Television news anchoring - 5-7 years
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or comparable television work experience
• Technical Skills: Experience in live shooting and editing news
• Skills: Excellent on-air camera skills ability to work under pressure
• Abilities: Leadership skills capable of managing multiple priorities as well as a proactive problem-solver lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
• Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
• Schedule: Work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies and able to work weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a 24-hour news channel

Working Conditions

• Works inside in a climate-controlled environment but may be assigned to field duties and be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions.
