Job Summary:
This position is a key member of SHC's core software team and will be responsible for short development cycles and frequent updates to public-facing mobile applications. This position should have a good understanding of mobile applications development.
Essential Functions:
- Designs and implements Android mobile applications.
- Performs application development, unit testing, support to QA, and production support
- Provides and adheres to best-practices for Android mobile application development
- Develops/maintains build systems, tools, and reusable components
- Gathers functional requirements to generate technical design specifications and build mobile applications
- Other duties as required
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Design or a directly-related field from an accredited college or university
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of directly related experience. Prefer at least 1 year of experience developing mobile applications for Android.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Android development environment
- Knowledge of disciplined software release build/deploy processes
- Knowledge of best practices for implementation of multi-language / international applications
- Understanding of Object-Oriented programming and data structures
- Experience writing code for multitasking systems
- Ability to create and maintain build and unit test systems using the Android or iPhone development toolchains
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Ability to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple overlapping projects
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
