Job Description

Minimum qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in the game development field working on games or game platforms.
  • Experience with the Android platform and ecosystem.
  • Experience with game development in C or C .


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in a technical account manager, solutions consultant, customer engineer, or software developer role working with mobile technologies.
  • Experience in developer relations and working with third-parties or partners.
  • Experience developing games and optimizing performance for Android and iOS platforms.
  • Experience working with game engines such as Unity or Unreal.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.

Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Programs Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. As an Android Games Developer Relations Engineer, you will help drive the success of games on Android. You will also help advance developer strategy with product teams, acting as the communicator of your partners to bring mutually beneficial features to the market.

Additional Information

(Colorado only*) Minimum full-time salary range between $130,000 - $139,000 bonus equity benefits.

*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Help game engines provide better support for large screen and foldable devices.
  • Work with cutting-edge game developers, solve engineering problems with Google technologies, and scale the knowledge to improve the overall gaming ecosystem.
  • Advocate for game developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, PR, Marketing, Business Development and other cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitate engineering-focused meetings with developers to help improve gaming experiences and solve complex technical problems at a large scale.
  • Develop sample code using Android game developer APIs and provide content for developer documentation and talks.
