Android Engineer

Summary

We are seeking an Android Engineer that specializes in utilizing SDK's in the implementation and maintenance of PAX (or like products) physical terminals to join our forward thinking Product Team. This person will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing Android Applications that will be deployed to physical terminals across our customers multiple locations, ensuring that they meet security standards and are optimized for performance. This person will also be responsible for providing ongoing support and maintenance for the physical terminals. Our ideal candidate is an experienced developer who has the skills to design, configure and develop custom solutions as part of an Agile development team building enterprise-grade software systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Install and configure PAX Physical Terminals
• Work with the Architecture and Product Teams to develop and implement policies and procedures for managing PAX Physical Terminals
• Test and troubleshoot PAX Physical Terminals to ensure proper functionality and security
• Collaborate with other Software Partners to integrate PAX physical terminals with other systems and applications
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for PAX Physical Terminals, including software updates and version upgrades
• Work with vendors and suppliers to ensure that we are staying up to latest date and avoid conflicts when terminals become end of life.
• Document all activities related to PAX Physical Terminals, including installation procedures, maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides

Additional Responsibilities

• Proficient in React; Angular or Vue experience a plus
• Provide training and support to lower level Software Engineers
• Skilled in Integrations including API Development using .net core as well as API Management Tools and CRM integrations a plus.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts in simple of terms
• Knowledge in applying CI/CD best practices in this physical terminal space across multiple devices
• Participates in Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, iteration planning, demos retrospectives, program increment planning, etc.
• Works closely with business and Product Team Stakeholders to facilitate requirements and the design of technical solutions, communicates status and technical issues.
• Influences and educates stakeholders by prototyping, performing demos and promoting platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing and managing PAX physical terminals or like terminals or android application development experience
• Knowledge of network protocols, communication protocols, and web standards
• Familiarity with payment processing systems and standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule. Up to three days per week may be worked remotely in accordance with the telecommuting policy.
