Overview:

We are hiring an Android Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. Our ideal Android Engineer has experience working with native Java Android applications that communicate via REST APIs. As our team grows, we aim to hire passionate, dedicated people who believe in our mission and want to be part of a collaborative and supporting team. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and deployment of features for the Patient and Provider Android applications

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

  • Work with product management to refine concepts and convey mobile design patterns

  • Continually introduce architectural improvements and refactoring to the codebase

  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs

Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience developing, shipping and maintaining native Android apps

  • Advanced knowledge of Java and Android Studio

  • Experience with Android frameworks such as Retrofit and OkHttp for APIs

  • Experience with Android build, testing and debugging tools

  • Experience with Google Fit health APIs

  • Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging service

  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle and app releases process

  • Substantial exposure to large and complex code bases, object-oriented development and API design

  • Understanding of best practices with integrating RESTful APIs in Android

  • Knowing the hows and whys of Git

  • Solid communication and time management skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to build something great
