Who You Are

As an Android Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to create innovative and user-friendly mobile solutions. Your expertise in Android development, combined with your passion for creating top-notch applications, will contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional mobile experiences to our users.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features and enhance existing Android applications

  • Design and implement high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code for the Android platform

  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to best practices

  • Debug and resolve application defects and performance issues

  • Optimize applications for maximum performance on a variety of Android devices

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in Android development and apply them to improve our products

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

  • 2+ years of professional experience in Android application development

  • Proficient in Java and Kotlin programming languages

  • Strong understanding of the Android platform, frameworks, and ecosystem

  • Experience with Android Studio, Gradle, and other relevant development tools

  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices

  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and JSON parsing

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

  • Experience with the latest trends, such as Compose, Coroutine, Flow

  • Understanding of lower level networking, like TCP/UDP, is a huge plus

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks

  • Published Android applications on the Google Play Store

  • Familiarity/experience with iOS a plus
