Lawyers For Children is celebrating 40 years of protecting rights and changing lives by providing legal and social work services at no charge to the children and young adults involved in the NYC foster care system. We are seeking a motivated, detail oriented Annual Fund Manager to join our small but dynamic Development team. POSITION:Annual Fund Manager STATUS:Full-time IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:Director of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships SALARY RANGE:$70k - $80k GENERAL: The Annual Fund Manager supports the Director of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships in the daily functions associated with Development as well as special projects and maintains production calendars. Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Philanthropy, the Annual Fund Manager will have primary responsibility for ensuring a successful annual fund and related campaigns and appeals. This position oversees the donor database and donor acknowledgements, helps establish and implement data-entry policies and procedures to ensure data consistency and quality, and supports efforts to develop philanthropic strategies. The Annual Fund Manager is a member of the Philanthropy team and works collaboratively with the Donor Relations Supervisor as needed. Specifically, this position will enter all incoming gifts, maintain the donor database, process gift acknowledgement, coordinate/track donor appeal mailings, and collaborate with Finance for monthly gift reconciliation. Frequent communication/interaction with Board of Directors and Junior Board. This position will also manage development-related communications through drafting and editing creative and written content, posting on social media, coordinating and scheduling e-blasts and maintaining mailing lists/segments, supporting web updates, maintaining a media contact list and supporting tracking and analytics. At least five years of experience with RaisersEdge NXT or similar database entry and reporting, multichannel donor appeals (direct mail, online, and social media), and events required, and grant/content writing is preferred. The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently using detail oriented and reliable follow-up skills, excellent communications and interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines, and an interest in social justice, children’s rights, and other related fields. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Implement, and evaluate the organization’s annual fund campaign, including mailings, appeals, reports, and other relevant correspondence. · Ensure effective and efficient utilization and management of donor database functions including data entry, data quality, cash and in-kind donations, production of reports, tax receipts, credit card donations, and recurring gifts. · Document all donor and data processes. · Create and implement processes to document in database conversations with all stakeholders as well as appropriate data entry for notes/cultivation activities/volunteer solicitor actions/appeals/segmentation, etc. · Research, build, and maintain database profile records. · Manage all aspects of external donor related communications including eblasts and social media as well as the resulting analytics. · Oversee all reporting tied to data needed for creating the philanthropy plan as well as for board, committee, and leadership meetings. · Manage or assist with logistics needed for activities related to annual fund campaigns and/or appeals. · Participate in any special event planning and implementation and other departmental or agency activities as needed. · Actively participate as a member of the Philanthropy Team. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: · A passion for LFC’s mission · Bachelor’s Degree with at least five years of relevant philanthropy or related experience · Proven experience in database entry, analysis, reporting and project management · Proficiency in Microsoft Office · Proficiency in Blackbaud’s RaisersEdge NXT or similar database · Ability to interact with stakeholders in a manner that further promotes affinity for the agency · Prospect research capability · Ability to initiate projects, be flexible, and work within a team environment · Ability to prioritize appropriately when facing multiple responsibilities and tasks · Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral · Ability to work positively and respectfully with diverse groups of people · Demonstrated professional demeanor with the ability to effectively communicate up, down, laterally and with both internal and external individuals · Ability to be work independently as well as to be a flexible team player · Ability to travel, work in the community, evening and/or weekends as needed This is a hybrid position Application Process: To apply, please submit your resume along with a cover letter highlighting your relevant experience in annual fund management, as well as your salary requirements.
