AP Accountant

Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking an AP Accountant to join our growing talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid-state rechargeable batteries.  Solid Power is a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative team environment. This position will be an integral part of the Accounting team as Solid Power continues to grow and expand.

Job Duties:

• High volume of AP processing with manual three-way and two-way match with an emphasis on SOX compliance of Delegation of Authority “DOA” and control documentation.
• Perform accurate GL and cost center coding.
• Handle all AP activities including: receiving, reviewing, coding and processing of expense reports, G&A invoices, operational vendor invoices and credit card transactions.
• Coordinate vendor set up, outreach, maintenance, and statement reconciliation.
• Contact vendors to complete ACH and banking confirmations.
• Assure transactions are documented and properly classified for internal, federal, state and local tax reporting purposes.
• Reconcile, note, and resolve or report discrepancies found in records.
• Perform general office duties such as filing and handling routine correspondence.
• Assist with month-end close.
• Assist with streamlining accounts payable processes and refinement of process documentation.
• Work on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School Diploma (GED), Associates Degree and/or some college preferred.
• At least 1-2 years applicable accounting experience.
• Demonstrate competence in various accounting software applications such as QuickBooks, SAP, and cloud-based bill pay, Office365 (Intermediate Excel skills).
• Ability to read and interpret various types of documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, including strong telephone and written skills.
• Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Proven ability to learn new accounting systems and processes quickly.
• Ability to identify and calculate sales and use tax.
• Willingness to implement process improvement for efficiency.

Salary Range: $22 - $30/hour
