AP Accountant

Who You Are:

The AP Accountant is responsible for accounts payable, and associated vendor communications, ensuring that transactions are properly recorded for US GAAP. Daily activities entail managing vendor accounts and building relationships with vendors, both internally and externally. Communicate with the team and company leadership about the activity of daily operations and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, with supporting documentation maintained in a manner allowing quick and reliable access to business information.

What You're Good At:

• Managing vendor inquiries for payment application status, payment issues, billing issues, business critical issues, deposits, refunds, and a variety of other vendor and customer service duties
• Monitoring vendor purchase orders, receipts and supporting invoices
• Processing vendor invoices daily
• Monitoring vendor accounts for missing invoices and other irregularities
• Resolving vendor issues by monitoring email communications and statements
• Reviewing and approving employee expenses along with P-card reports and resolve any un-documented or out of policy transactions
• Maintaining updated and accurate vendor files
• Ensuring all transactions comply with company policies and procedures
• Utilizing internal archiving and retention system to ensure compliance with the records retention policy, US and international tax records retention laws and regulations
• Creating and maintaining desk-top procedures
• Ad hoc duties as requested by management
• In this role your goals and KPIs will be focused around:
  • Invoice & payment processing
  • Overall process improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring company compliance

What You Contribute: 

• Bachelor’s in Accounting or equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with an ERP or financial reporting and control system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics AX/D365
• Able to build and maintain effective vendor relationships and proactively monitor systems
• Experience in an internal customer and vendor facing role
• Work cooperatively on a team and work cross-functionally as needed
• Strong communicator, adaptable and learns quickly
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive and anticipates results of their action or inaction
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
