Job Description

Responsibilities

• Assist vendor setup to ensure that all vendors the Company does business with are legitimate vendors and provide the Purchasing Department with the necessary information to process vendors.
• Assist processing cost invoices to ensure the vendor, invoice date, invoice due date, invoice amount, and G/L coding is accurate.
• Assist processing employee expense claims ensuring each expense report submitted has proper documentation (receipts), communicating with the employee/manager if any issues arise from processing expense reports, and ensuring each expense listed are coded to the proper G/L account.
• Assist with month-end close procedures to ensure that all invoices are related to the month are recorded timely and accurately as well as recording all accruals needed for any invoices that have not been approved timely so that expenses are accurately represented.
• Assist with day-to-day procedures related to inventory and fixed assets to ensure they are properly recorded in the G/L.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations for accounts payable, accrued expense, prepaid expense, and inventory accounts to ensure the amounts are accurately represented on the financial statements.
• To perform all additional work designated by the Senior Accountant as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or accounting.
• 1-2 years of proven experience in accounts payable in a fast-paced environment.
• Great attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines without much assistance.
• Good understanding of the common fiscal procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent multitasking and organizational skills.
• Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Applications – especially Excel.
