What’s brewing

As our Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist (Associate), you will be responsible for the successful execution of full-cycle AP procedures, weekly payroll processing, and support key business process improvement initiatives across the organization. Reporting to our Finance & Accounting Manager, this role will be critical in effectively building our in-house accounting function. We are looking for an individual that is eager to learn, self-motivated and execution oriented.

What you'll own
  • Accounts Payable
    • Process all invoices and payments for vendors and suppliers and employee reimbursements, ensuring accuracy of payment, terms, required approvals, matching to PO’s, and G/L coding.
    • Manage all compliance related A/P processes including 1099 issuance.
    • Assist with monthly G/L close, including bank reconciliations and activity accruals.
  • Payroll & Labor Compliance
    • Process weekly payroll, accurately and according to their respective payroll cycles.
    • Review payroll related transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of data, interface management & reconciliation of data
    • Be a resource to employees to provide them with an understanding of the payroll process as well as assisting with employee questions regarding pay
  • Business Process Design
    • Help design, document and improve financial processes that support our growth as we continue to scale
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 2-5 years of relevant equivalent work experience
  • Attention to detail with a strong communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships
  • Understanding of payroll regulations and processing laws, taxes at Federal, State and local levels: Multi-state experience preferred
  • Ability to be adaptable, resourceful, take initiative, solve problems and offer solutions
  • Knowledge of and experience with finance/HR software and systems: QuickBooks, Bill.com, Rippling, Deputy
Benefits
  • Salary Range: $74,000-$82,000
    • Blank Street, in good faith, believes that the posted salary range is accurate for this role in New York City at the time of posting. Our salary ranges are rooted in the desire to pay competitively relative to our organization size and industry, reflecting just one part of the total compensation package. Additional components include equity offering, healthcare benefits, paid time off and various work perks (commuter benefits, free coffee). Details will be discussed during the interview process. Blank Street may pay more or less than the posted range based on factors such as relevant experience and skills, qualifications and location, among others. This range may be modified in the future.
