Role Snapshot
You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the MVH Accounting team who is responsible for driving change, improving accounting processes, and ensuring existing processes are maintained. Primarily responsible for preparation of government reports, analyzing accounting business processes and working with other accounting and enterprise teams to design and implement process and system improvements.
In this role, you will:
- Analyze and reconcile data daily while initiating and implementing best practices to ensure adherence to all government rules, regulations, and requirements for the administration of WPS current contracts.
- Proactively communicate any issues to MVH Accounting Manager.
- Assist leadership with staff training and training initiatives to ensure department procedures are performed per the Standard Operating Procedure documents.
- Prepare monthly government reporting for all contracts including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable reports, and foreign gain/loss reports.
- Ensure all reports are prepared per the Standard Operating Procedure documents.
- Assist with year-end 1099 filing process and any ad-hoc tasks.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audit requests including providing data and gathering supporting documentation.
- Work with Accounting, Operations, and IS teams to triage, root cause, and resolve system job abend issues, system job out of balance issues, and reporting issues.
- Lead MVH Accounting systems projects and government change order projects, including concept development, requirement identification, user acceptance and controls testing, and production implementation from a process and operational standpoint.
- Define and implement best practices and procedures to ensure efficient and quality work.
- Create department Standard Operating Procedure documents and coordination annual reviews to ensure documents are current.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, including coordinating with operational and technical teams.

- Trains employees and develops/implements policies at the direction of the Manager of MVH Accounting.
- Determine most effective system changes to comply with government updates or system enhancements, best method to correct out of balance payment situations, as well as best approach to correct refund file records to eliminate future issues with processing records.
- Research and resolve accounting functional process issues, including root cause analysis.
- Assess accounting system(s) issues and determine appropriate path or party to address issue.
- Provide input to MVH Accounting Manager on necessary departmental system and procedural changes, and answer questions, as necessary.
- Experience working in an environment that serves our nation's military, veterans, Guard and Reserves, and Medicare beneficiaries

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Accounting or related field OR equivalent post high school education and/or work-related experience with emphasis on intermediate or advanced accounting and equivalent in accounting experience.
- (5) or more years of experience in accounting or accounting systems operations
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Easytrieve, internet, intranet and office equipment.
- Possess excellent reading comprehension, written communication, social interaction, and calculating skillsets.
- Ability to utilize sound reasoning and analysis, overcome regular distractions to meet strict deadlines, and respond appropriately in emergency conditions.

Salary Range
$50,000 - $75,000 annually
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
