Job Description
540 is looking for an API Engineer to help the federal government #GetShitDone. We’re looking for someone who is a proactive problem-solver that loves to identify and find solutions to technical problems. The ideal candidate leads by example and doesn’t shy away from getting their hands dirty. You can dissect the work to be done, delegate, empower and encourage developers on the team to be responsible and accountable. You’ll be part of an agile team including Software Developers, Data Engineers, DevSecOps Engineers, UI/UX Designers, Business Analysts and a Scrum Master.
PROJECT
You can expect a fast-paced environment in which the team will be providing user-centered design, development, security and operations services, and data science in support of USCIS Information Technology Biometrics Systems Delivery. You will bring your expertise and an “art of the possible” approach to delivering features that provide system users with streamlined, intuitive, and reliable experiences. You will work day-to-day on a full lifecycle DevOps team, estimating, designing, developing and testing optimized features for deployment. In addition, you will work with your contemporaries to identify areas for improvement and optimize the systems to enhance partner integration, system stability, security and data integrity on a continual path to modernizing the immigration experience for USCIS benefits seekers on their immigration journeys. USCIS administers the nation's lawful immigration system, safeguarding its integrity and promise by efficiently and fairly adjudicating requests for immigration benefits while protecting Americans, securing the homeland, and honoring our values.
